Question Gauge Lights

I am installing the gauges I got for christmass finaly and I have a question. I want the gauge lights to match the stock dash lights. I know I can get a couple of the condums but I would rather paint the bulbs with nail polish to get that green light. Anybody know what colour and brand of polish works best? I know a few people have done this just want to save myself the trial and error.

I thought model paint was the way to go? I used the bulb condoms myself.
