Finished installing gauges recently, EGT, Tranny and Boost. The gauges installed were DI Pricol. The EGT gauge did not come with a light bulb for some reason, so i called Diesel Manor and they sent me one. Gauge were all hooked up and i took the truck for a ride, strangely the EGT gauge was lit. It lites up once the key is turned and the truck is started. The other two gauges lite up when the headlight switch is turned on. The Tranny and Boost gauge are a different color (orange/green) then the EGT gauge. I dont understand how the EGT gauge is lit when there is no light bulb. The bulb came today, i tried to put it in but it does not lite up at all. So, the EGT gauge is lite all the time some how and is a different color then the other two. This is annoying to me, i would like to be able to control the EGT light like i am the other two gauges. Does anyone else have or had a problem like this? Any help would be great, thank you

 

The reason the EGT gauge lights up right away is most likely because you have wired the LED (two of those four wires on the connector; two are for the thermocouple and the other two are for the LED). If you want the LED to turn on when the lights are on you will need to wire it the same as the other gauge lights. Once you get the bulb and the LED hooked up, the lighting will be similar but not quite exactly like the other two gauges. I am also wondering if you got the wrong bulb for the EGT gauge as it is bigger than the ones in the other gauges if memory serves me well. I think I found a bulb at my local auto parts store that fit. If you need more info you can PM me.

I believe they sent me the correct bulb because it is bigger then the bulbs for the other two gauges. So i have to wire the LED like i wired the other two gauges. I wonder why they made the gauge that way. Ill have to test the bulb they sent to see if it is working. Thanks for the info
