Fuel pressure problem
Fuel pressure problem
I changed the fuel filter shortly after I got the truck and when I went to prime it I found the lp to be stone dead. No idea how long it may have been like this, the IP still seems to be alright as far as I can tell other than the truck has 155k and it still doesnt smoke at all other than a little puff on start up and maybe a small cloud if I really get on it. Dont know if thats good or bad. Anyway back to the lp, I got a carter from summit and a big line kit and mounted the lp to the frame rail. Got a mechanical 0-30 psi fuel gauge inside the cab that reads 10 when I bump the starter just to run the lp. 8 psi at idle and it only drops to just a hair under 7 at WOT. What do ya'll recommend I do. Will summit replace this lp with another one or should I go a different route? Also, does the lack of smoke mean the IP is probably on the way out? Sorry for the book i just wrote.
Where did you get the holley hp from and what must you pay for one? Is it actually going to hurt anything at this pressure or would I be ok for a while. Its deffinitely more pressure than what it was getting....0
the hp i got from jegs. $230 for it- plus it is rebuildable. those psi #s are a little low but it will be ok for awhile. oh, don't waste your time moving the carter to the frame near the tank. your readings wont change. don't ask how i know.
