ok my uncles truck when he fills up will push the fuel back out the tank making the side of his truck all wet. also when he opens the tank it lets off a ton of pressure what could be the problem. he has tried a new cap (dealer solution didn't work) and the dealer can't figure it out so now he asked me and i'm asking you this is before buying a new tank!!!

truck is an '02 dodge HO. CTD 4x4 6spd

 

There's a thread in the 2nd gen drivetrain forum I believe about this exact problem. Might want to check it out.

 

thanks big blue that thread helped but my uncle installed a new tank and all is well now. so the injector washer thing they talk about in the thread was a good point but he asked about that and dodge said nope.

 

I guess they had forgotten to remove the cap from the tank vent line on the top of the fuel tank module
