I have seen many times on here poeple mention having the ECM flashed. Is this something that just resets the factory settings or does it actually make improvements above and beyond? Is this something any diesel shop can do or do, or I have to purchase a new ECM? By reflashing the ECM what is accomplished? Is this the poin where timeing can be advanced? ANyhow if it make Mo' Power for limited $ I would be very interested.

From time to time, Dodge "upgrades" the program and calls for a reflash...or update.

It can not be done by anyone other that the dealer, and is VIN specific! Once the VIN# is entered...no other model or year can be programed in to that ECM.

Can not be played with to change timing or gain HP....other than the MAD ECM (a replacement) from Marco in Italy.
