Talking Finally getting gsk!!!

I'm just excited that my truck will go faster soon!! I never drive it anymore except pulling a trailer so right now it falls flat on its face at 1900 rpms. I bought the PDR kit and hope to have good results like everyone else!! Anyone know if I put some "180" horse injectors if I will really gain 20hp over my 160 stock injectors?

Forgive my ignorance, but I just bought a 12 valve, I really love the truck, but all of my knowledge about these trucks came from researching the common rail here on DTR.(I have an 04.5 also) I guess I am asking you to describe the GSK upgrade in lamans terms. Is this a P-pump mod or an engine mod, Ive seen 3K and 4K mentioned, is this in reference to peak RPMs from the engine? Does this mod create more horsepower or just create more potential for power to be made with P-pump tuning, and bigger injectors?

A 3k kit will let your motor "fuel" till the listed rpm's. Automatic trucks only "fuel" till 2000, manual trannys are 2500. You and I can both rev to 3000 rpm's but try pulling a 15k lb trailer and doing any acceleration past 2500 or 2000 for me. I don't honestly know if it helps hp but it makes it faster and better all around driveability.

Look up fuel plates. They will give you hp and your truck already has 215 hp injectors so you are pretty set unless you want to go crazy, like 400 hp... I have 160 hp injectors so my fuel plate only put me at apx 220 hp with my intake and exhaust.

Thanks for the response Wished, that clears is up pretty well. I will try to do some reading on this as an upgrade for later on down the road($$$).

GLH,and Wished I realize you guys and I have different HP ratings on our motors, however what kind of increase are you expecting from the fuel plate mod and GSK kit?
And also, how much power can you add before you need to put in a heavy clutch?

from what ive been told basically the P pump has springs in it that limit rpm (thats why for me i can only rev to about 2700) they limit rpm by reducing the amount of fuel. As you go through the rpm range at a certain point (ive heard its at about 2000 rpm) the springs kick in and being to de-fuel the truck) By installing a Gsk you end up having the ability to have fuel up to 3K which means basicly you end up with more power up top. If you go to a 4K you need to realize that you would need the fuel to get there and 60lb valve springs or else you'll end up with a truck that doesnt run because the valves probably got smacked by the pistons

So the GSK kit is for the P pump, and the 60lb. valve springs are obviously for the valve springs?
