FASS question

Will a stock fuel filter flow enough fuel for the largest FASS pump (150gpm I think)?

Whats the difference between a FASS 2 and the normal FASS, or is there not one?

Fass

The Fass 1 is the lower 95gph. I run that one with 17-18 idle and 15 WOT.

The fass 2 is just the pump, the normal fass comes with the filters

Fass

Im building my truck right now and ive installed the Fass 180 GPH system with filters and im doing away with the stock fuel system including Mech left pump, filter, pre filter, and fuel heater. Im running 1/2 line from tank to pump and 1/2 from pump to Injection pump with no stops in between. Ill be sure and let everyone know how it does once i get the motor built.

I didn't know they made a 180 gph pump. I am thinking that for the extra ~$200 it would be better just to get there filters. I was also planning on removing the lift pump but didn't know what to do with the hole in your block, I guess I could machine a cover or do they already make one?

When I had a FASS fuel system put on my truck the shop left the original pump on the block and just bypassed the whole thing and ran the tube straight to the injector pump. Not sure on any fuel pressure #'s but if you go this way make sure that you unplug the fuel preheater so it doesnt burn up from not having fuel to it. My 2cents

Straight pipe it, you won't ever notice the FASS again.

I believe mine is straight piped (dont know for sure, it was on there when I bought it), how would you go about finding out if its straight piped or not.

Look under the truck and see if there is a muffler on it. If the muffler is MIA then it is piped. Other ways of quieting the pump is to mount it to the frame with rubber spacers. This will reduce the vibrations which is causing the noise.

Take a look under the bed. If there is a muffler there, you'll see it. Otherwise, it'll be just a straight piece of pipe.

The 180 gph 45psi FASS is VERY loud!! A SBC block off plate will fit just fine don't get rid of your stock parts though you may want to ditch it, my FASS turned my 60 gallon tank into a 40 gallon tank, so be carefull running under 1/4 tank!!
