F.P. Gauge
I found a slammin deal on a f.p. gauge, but its only a 0-15psi...
I know this is for carb. applications, but will it work for my cummins???
Whats the max that it should reach???

I know this is kinda off post but, when you hook up a fuel pres. gauge on a diesel, do you need to use an isolator if its in the cab? I know on a gas motor you do but, how on a CTD? Thanks

people run them with isolators. they jsut say that they only last about 3ish months and then you have to replace them. So most people just hook their guages direct. Thats probley what im going to do

Or they go with an isolator and are unaware that the diaphram has been dissolved by the Diesel fuel, and are running fuel to the guage anyway.
No isolator here.

I just installed fp gauge in 3 gauge pillar pod and used copper boost type tubing from Auto Zone and it works great. Just make sure to use an 18" grease gun hose to dampen pulse or you get a lot vibraty noise at the gauge and the tubing. My buddy had one with an isolator and had to refill with antifreeze all the time and finally just plumbed it straight to the gauge.

If you look in my Pic Gallery I got the 3 place A-Pillar pod with a fuel pressure guage hooked up. No isolator in mine. I've got a needle valve to shut down the guage if a leak did occur. But the needle valve is to dampen the pulses from the LP. These pulses that the LP produce is part of the reason that isolators fail on these trucks. The other reason is the diaphram isn't properly rated for diesel fuels.

"has anybody put the fp guage in the ash tray??"
Glad I saw this. That is exactly what I just did last night. Its just sitting in there right now, but I plan to make a small bracket mount for it. Drilled a small hole in the driver's side edge for the boost tubing to run through. The illumination is tapped into the ashtray lightbulb wiring. I already have a triple pillar full of boost, EGT, and a Polk tweeter. I wanted to conceal a few things so I mounted the FP guage in the ashtray.
I used the 30" Schraeder valve hose from Geno's, then a 1/4" NPT to 1/8" NPT reducer fitting, then directly to a boost tubing kit from Diesel Manor. That connects directly to the guage. Its all covered with flex-loom tubing. I don't have a needle valve. The Isspro mechanical guage has a fitting in the inlet that reduces the flow to a pinhole. Should be enough of an isolator by itself.
