External Wastegates.

Just wondering where you guys have had the best luck and the best deals/service getting external wastegates for twins? I'm sure Scheids/Piers/Enterprise sell them, but never have seen a price or even a listing as I can remember for one, just looking for ideas, what they might cost so I don't go spend double what I should, and what to look for and what to avoid.

Thanks all.

I have bought them from Olee Poole. He always seems to have them in stock. Power by Poole is the name of his shop.

just do what us poor people do........alter the wastegate to something similar to this......

i cut and rewelded in a threaded bar and threaded rod so i could adjust it and i can fully adjust mine from 0-68 PSI .....the stock wastegate is not strong enough after 68 psi and that the reason she stops there....it cost about 17 dollars i think to do it all.....round peace of aluminum.......drilled it tapped it.....weld an eye hole to the non tapped side form bolt....then buy a threaded rod and cut to length....then you weld it to the old rod ont he wastegate......

well I really was looking for the external type that would like go between the turbo and the manifold, generally a bigger one than is available in a internally wastegated exhaust housing? Thanks though,,,funny you showed that pic. A kid came into work today looking for an adaptor fitting for that EXACT wastegate model. Same bracket on it and everything. Small world.

piers has one on their website, but no price. i do know haisley was selling the pulse maifold with the wastegate for $1000 and that was on sale. i believe you have to buy them as a set (manifold and wastegate) because the manifold has to be modified with a riser

well if you do want an external wastegate buy one that is reputable to 100 PSI....most wastegates on the market are designed for gasoline engine and max out at 30-40 PSI...........while back i looked up external wastegate and the cheapest i could find one was for 528.95 with max PSI 80 through jegs.......so i went the poor man route and modified my internal wastegate

I've got $388.00 into mine (see gallery) and that includes the Tial 38mm WG, regulator, hose, clamps....everything except the welding.
The wastegate alone was $235.00, ands that's full price, I believe. Tial is excellent quality!

You don't need high psi...that's what the regulator is for. Mine has only a 21 psi spring in it.....works great.

I believe that's a blow off valve designed to go on the intake side to keep the truck from overboosting,,,which I probably will get, but I actually have a friend that makes these at his machine shop. They're just a manual setup that works off air pressure and a spring, but it's alot cheaper than buying an aftermarket one. I need one that bypasses the 1st turbo.
Rjohnson thanks, those pics are helpful, that's exactly the type of setup I'm looking for. thanks again guys.
