Exhuast brake not working on '98.5
Exhuast brake not working on '98.5
I have a 1998.5 24v Cummins (ik that's probably not relevant) with a BD diesel exhaust brake, I bought it with the exhaust brake already installed except the vacuum line wasn't connected, so I managed to find a different way to connect it, and the guy I bought it from said that would be the only problem with it and then it should work, but it's still not engaging when I pull the button (I have a stick shift manual with the push pull button) I found the instructions for it online and it says I need to adjust the DFIV or something, but I can't find it anybody else had a problem like this? Or does BD have their own forum for this?
I hoped I still had the info from when I installed my BD Brake on my '98 12 valve but all I could find was instructions for cleaning the spool valve. Since that was about the only issue I had with the BD brake I'm attaching it for you. With the brake being unused for a long time, it likely is gummed up. You also need to make sure the brake lever itself will move.
