engine prelube
engine prelube
I have read that 60% of engine wear occurs during start up. (the time it takes for the oil to move after start). I have also read about an individual on this site that bought a prelube setup from a co. called "PRELUB". it used a start interupt switch until the pressure was up. I never was able to get an email sent to them as its a bad address. Sooo I am thinking of finding a small electric oil pump on a switch with a pressure guage. to do the job of prelubeing. the question I have is: does anyone know where on the 1999 cummins to plumb the line into? oil journal or where? or maybe plumb it into the oil filter somewhere? Thanks for any response to this. ;D
Re:engine prelube
Here's a link to homebrewing your own preluber. But to honest with you, if you're not restarting the engine frequently, it won't make much difference in engine life. It will probably outlive the rest of the truck.
