Elevation/Power Question
Elevation/Power Question
Greetings, all. I have a question about power increases at sea level over high altitude.

I live in the Denver area, and the power I have is adequate for a stock truck (not to be stock for too much longer!). I'm driving down to Phoenix for a week next month to visit friends and check out how my motorcycle runs after modding it ('99 Suzuki Hayabua-BRUTAL!), and I wondered if I would notice any difference in my truck? The turbo seems to be the great equalizer at altitude, but what about sea level?

Any input would be appreciated.
Re:Elevation/Power Question
Let's hope so. The last time I was down there, it was on my bike, and I noticed a HUGE difference in power, and noticed the same thing when I had my car down there. I don't know what to expect with my ETH.

Re:Elevation/Power Question
I spend half the year in Nevada at five to eight thousand feet, and half the year in West Virginia/western Virginia, at eight hundred to two thousand feet. There's a noticeable difference, not just off-the-line or lugging through the shift points on the slopes, but also in the EGT's you'll see.

The higher you go, the more you baby the diesel -- hard to believe, but true.

GP
