is it worth doing the hot unlock on the edge juice or is it not worth it. were you disappointed with the power gain if any and did anyone break or damage anything after doing it? I only ask cause i know they make you sign a waiver and the numbers are the same for level 5.

 

Quite a bit more smoke, turns defueling off. My opinion it is a little more responsive on bottom end too. Really have to keep an eye on EGTs and fuel, but I see you have a FASS.

 

@bigsmokey which FASS do you have?? and did you swap your VB to get better line pressure for your TC?? im looking at doing the same thing so kinda curious how good the BD is, and how much is the Hot unlock??

 

i like it. you can feel more bottomend. i think it is 100 bucks for the unlock code. i watched the edge wibsite and got it for 50.

 

i noticed quite a big gain down low. lots of smoke and more power over 2500rpm. definitely worth it

 

@olblue02 I did the valve body for more pressure but it's more holding pressure for the clutches then the TC, made a huge difference nice firm shifts and holds the power nicely I am not easy on it either and havent had a problem yet. I didnt get a BD diesel one i got mine from a transmission shop I found on eBay. T I have the 95 gpm fass

 

its not worth the 120 bens you can use that somewhere else no added power over level 5 still 120HP and 350FTLBS all it does is raises the defueling from 2300RPM to 3200RPM just a little more room to play with

 

I'm running the edge cts with the air dog , cold air intake and a boost elbow, the hot unlock was well worth it. The only issue I have is the factory clutch can't hold the power past third gear. The clutch is going to be swapped for a south end big single, turbo is being switched to a 351 vgt, bd intercoooler and a set of ladder bars to get it to hook up. I'll keep the members posted, I'm planning on dynoing it with the new clutch, as is and then after with the turbo. I'll keep you posted.

 

Signifigently more responsive on my truck low end then setting 5. More smoke and higher EGT's. As a standalone upgrade its not a bad upgrade for a 100 bucks .. if you already have injectors, stacked chips, etc. I wouldn't spend the extra for it.

 

Save your money and upgrade your turbo before adding any more fuel to it.
