dually conversion with 315s?

I just got a 34' gooseneck and am starting to think I am going to need more weight capacity on my truck. Right now I have 315/75R16s with a 2500# rating each. Empty with the trailer hooked up I have 4K lbs on the rear axle so don't have much room to load much on the front of trailer. I got a free dually bed sothinking of converting to dually. I found that arrowcraft or whatever place with the spacers to make track width correct. I found some pics of a dually running the 315s all around with 2" spacers between the duals. Any pro/cons to something like that? I just bought the tires 10K miles ago so don't really wanna ditch unless I can find someone to trade my 315s on 16x10 Classic 2s for a set of dually rims/tires. Other thing is if I go with the spacers and 315s could I get away w/o the dually axle spacers on the rear and run the tires more inboard since they are gonna stick out with the added width and spacer between the duals or would the inner tire hit the fender? Any other tips on conversions is appreciated. I also found other 315s with 3190# rating could get a pair of them and run on the back and run the yokos out on the front. Thanks for any tips.

im not real sure about this but i think that a dually axle is a bit narrower than a straight side.and if you add spacers on top of that you might be little wide.

I thought they were wider because of putting the inner tire with a serious offset rim on backward.

watch what spacers you get for the rating on them. some of them will break easly. and i ran 305s with a 1inch spacer on stock 04 ford wheels with no problem.

The dually axle is the exact same axle as the SRW trucks , there is a spacer installed because your inner rim is on "backwards" and it would run up against the spring/shock/brake/inner fender , before the lugs were even tight.

Correct me if i am wrong but the Dually's have a Dana 80 and the SRW have a Dana 70? they are both rated for different loads, Just adding another set of wheels on the back doesn't increase your load capacity. You have to look at what the rear is rated at and not just the tires.

manual tranny truck like mine have the dana 80 rear. I know the front has added spacers to clear the backward dually rims. I have "heard" that the front wheel bearings are different too being hub centric vs lug nut centered... any truth to that??? Can I find the spacers off the front at a salvage yard and put on my 3/4 ton single wheel dana60 front? Is the rear the same with spacers too? Thanks.

Can't say for the front, but the back doesn't run spacers, just a regular hub and a massive drum.

Wrong , all manual tranny trucks have the dana 80 rear , as well as automatic duallys. The axle is actually a hybrid, just the gears and center housing are dana 80 , the tubes hubs , axles , etc are all dana 70.

I beg to differ on the tubes.. The tubes on my 70 are 3.5", the tubes on my 80 are 4"..
