Dr Performance
Dr Performance
A friend of mine just bought a new 03 Dodge diesel in Sacramento CA. At the dealership they gave him info for the Dr Performance Diesel Power Specialists (www.drperformance.com) performance package. Supposedly not a fueling box but "optimized fuel distribution". Advertised 50 HP & 140 FT Lbs.
Anyway the dealership told him that this performance package was the only one that Dodge would allow without voiding his warranty.
Has anyone heard about Dr Performance? I told my friend to be very leary of any claims that it would not void his warranty but he said the dealership is the one recommending it to him.

Re:Dr Performance
The good Doc is here in Texas these days, and has just come out from under a rock that he has been hiding under for months if not years.
He is making some claims once again and only time will tell if he can back them up this time.

I don't think there are any "uprate" kits out there right now for 03's and up that would NOT void the warranty. Maybe that dealership has something on the side going on, but I doubt Cummins and Dodge would allow the warranty to continue unless the uprate kit was specifically sold by Dodge or Cummins. I know Cummins sells an uprate kit for the 99 thru 01 models, but it has to be a manual only, and the kit comes directly from Cummins. Anything else I believe is subject to having your warranty being voided. Of course, I can not verify all of this.

I won't say anything good or bad about Doc P, however there is NO performance kit available from a source other than Mopar that Dodge will allow. Whether they can void the warranty or not is subject to lawyers and the M-M act, however you are rolling the dice, even if it installed at a Dodge dealership.

Re:Dr Performance
I would reccomend that he save his hard earned money for something that works! I bought my truck with the Dr kit pre installed at the dealer (won't say how much :-[). I recieved twice the performance from the edge ez for way less money. Hindsight 20/20 just my $0.02.
