DOR Bumper Modifications
Re:DOR Bumper Modifications
As to the lights, yes, as soon as finances allow.
At least 1 set on the built in mounts, probably some others as well.
Also thinking of using the bumper as a mounting platform for some air horns, also when finances allow.
As to connecting the airdam, I just used the original factory hardware.
8 torx screws and clips, and 2 screws I had lying around.
It was attached to the original bumper with the 8 screws and 2 plastic pop rivets, but the rivets wouldnt work.
I just happened to drill the perfect size hole, and the screws self tapped themselves into the bumper, so I didn't even need to use the clips.
I think eventually they'll vibrate loose, so I used the clips just to be sure.

Phox:
Excellent idea. I sold my stock bumper shortly after I recieved the DOR and didn't have the air dam any more. After noticing that the bottom of my radiator fins were getting a little banged up from flying gravel etc as well as the empty look underneath I figured I better do something. So what I did was go to Home Depot picked up a 2' X 4" sheet of diamond plate aluminum cut it to fit and bent it to the contour of the bumper mounts. It goes beyond the cross member but is only as wide as the mounts. Used some good sheet metal screws to attach it to the mounts with some tabs. Then drilled a couple dozen 1/2 inch holes in it for air flow. Got out the handy dandy can of flat black spray paint, put the wire brush on the drill and scuffed it up good and painted it. I was expecting the paint to start chipping rather quickly but thought it would do until I got around to powder coating it or something but it has been over a year and amazingly still no chips in the paint. It looks much better than before and when I get around to it will provide an excellent mounting spot for the horns.
