Diprocal lighting

Gauges are all installed and look great. Fuel pressure is a bit of concern at 8-10lbs at idle and only around 5 lbs at WOT. Anyway I bought Diprocal white faced FP, Pyro, and Boost. Problem is they aren't what I would consider very bright at all. I spliced all the wires together minus the pyro and ran them to an add-a-circuit fuse. I connected the fuse to the Illum. fuse. I wired my pyro with another add-a-circuit to the IGN fuse. They are all dim. I can see the main numbers but not the red needle and are hard to read. My illumination switch is up all the way. Does anyone know what my problem is???????? If it's just the way diprocals are, then does anyone know where I could get some stronger bulbs??????? Thanks in advance.

Not sure of the illumination switch with them, but as a general rule check the voltage to the lights, ya might have a bad connection, either on the + or- side. just an idea.

I'd be weary about putting higher output bulbs in, it seems like any bulbs 5w or higher can melt plastic if there is no moving air.

Mine are the same. I was talking to my bro and we discussed these gauges in some depth. We always run Auto Meter gauges in all our Rock crawlers. This was the first time I ran some Di Pricol gauges, and I am glad I did. They kick ***!!!! I have yet to see Auto meter come out with a 1-30 FP gauge. The lighting may suck, but I think you will get used to them in time.

I have mine on the dimmer switch and noticed no problems. No, they are not "bright" but I have great vision and don't like my gauges taking from me the night vision outside the truck.

Rugged gauges that are accurate too.

Modern gages have plastic back-lit faces - light shines thru the gage face - where the older styles had aluminum faces, with reflected lighting.

The back-lit styles are brighter, just like your instrumant panels.

HOdiesel80,

The new DiPricol's all have the LED lighting that has eliminated this issue 100%. We have been selling their products since 1997 and lots of our customers have gotten the LED replacements from off of the internet that really brighten the old style DI's up a lot. You might try that.
