I would expect him to be around 525HP due to his ETH pump. The ETH pump is really a limiting factor on the HO motor.

Gotcha Still learning all the little details about how that HRVP afffects trucks.

These 12v are pretty simple. More Fuel=More Power=No More Money

I know it's not at all that simple!

Don mentioned a customer of his lost 54 horses on a hrvp truck by swapping 4's for 6's 604 with the M4's and 550 with the M6's

I think Don should come out with a M9 tuned for the HRVP guys =P

Oh Man!.....I hope that doesn't work that way for everyone. I'm getting a HRVP this weekend. I'll be pi$$ed if I lose hp.

I think you should be fine.... With the trucks we tried swapping from 4's to 6's we didn't gain but we also didn't loose!

RJ is headed where I am, long term.

Right now I only have the 4s and Smarty. A good start, for sure.

A TST and BD twins will finish the deal. I once dreamed of fabbing my own twins, but since then I've become convinced of the BD twins.

First, the BD twins can handle all the fuel that my HO will ever have, so they are just big enough. Second, they are perhaps the most "finished" looking twins out there-- they just look more professional, imo, than almost all the other sets I've seen. In fact, many sets look almost ragged by comparison.

The only thing I hold against the BD twins is that I think we can do better for turbos. Surely Garrett, T'netics, Precison and those kinds of places have turbos that would perform better in terms of "spool and cool". After all, "spool and cool" is all you could ask for a twins setup, right?

I'd really like to see how the new Garrett BB would fare in twins, and I'm suspicious that the Edge BB turbo would also be a great choice in twins.

When someone comes out with some twins that have the polish and professionalism of the BD set, but turbos that are newer, better technology, they will have my number for real!

Kinda hope that isn't right either. Now I'm wondering why I paid the extra cash for the hot rod pump if I'm not going to get a gain out of It........

I'm wondering why this is the first time I've read this. Oh well, money has been spent. Maybe my situation will be different. Of course I won't have a measurement on it as I havn't dyno'd the 6's yet.

Sorry not trying to rain on your parade I was surprised when I read those comments myself- it was my thread I made after getting dyno'd: https://www.dieseltruckresource.com/...d.php?t=101333

I'm thinking that with all the bombs you've got the ho pump would be the weak link and you'd see a gain. Doug's got a more knowledgable response coming so I'll wait and see what he says.

An ETH gains considerably from an HRVP (II is the ones I have used for testing). The differences come in with the injectors..... When running a HRVP you can go with Mach 4's and make equal HP as running Mach 6's.
