I have a chance to pick up locally a ranch hand rear bumper from an '04 Ram 2500.

What would need to be modified to make it fit an 01? Would it just not match up to the frame correctly or is the body style not going to line up?

Good price and no freight, so I am trying to see if there are any sensible possibilities. Thanks.

 

The mounts would definitely have to be changed, but I'm not sure if it would curve around the back of the bedside correctly or not. I can tell you that the shape is different. If it fits, it would look a little off from a top view. If you like, I can find some measurements from the inside width of the bedsides. (basically the width of the tailgate) Maybe someone with firsthand experience can tell you. Otherwise, let me know and I'll look a little closer.

 

BB, thanks. Maybe I'd be better of without another project! I was hoping it might be something simple and with a modification or two end up with something that would work and look nice.
