The tube from the airbox to the turbo. I did mine with only a flathead screwdriver.

Higher sublevel numbers will give you more smoke.

Good to hear you will be responsible with the smoke Many aren't and are quite proud of that fact. Smoking out pedestrians no matter how deserving they might be just aint good for our image!

on yours, which is like mine. it'll have just a band clamp holding the rubber tube to the turbo.

Did they do away with the screw tight band clamp in 00? My 99 intake was identical to the 97.

NOPE......same thing. but i really don't like using a flat screw driver on them. i just use a 5/16" nut driver. no slipping off at all........

Ok, the way you aid it I was thinking it sounded different.

And a nutdriver means going to get a nutdriver for me. I keep a screwdriver in the door pocket

How much different is the sound of the turbo? I still have the stock pipe but it's straight no muffler.

It's a big difference. You'll hear it through the air cleaner and from under the hood. Of course if you have a stock air cleaner, not as much as if it was an afe or k&n or aem or ????????

I only have the K&N filter that fits into the stock place, I'm replacing it though with the K&N FIPK Gen 2.

an afe stage 1. well it's a 2500 lng bed, quad cab. but i have the extra overload spings in the rear from the factory, so i think it's rated as HD or at least rated more than a standard 2500.

what would be the difference between getting the afe stage I kit and the torque tube separately and buying a stage II kit with it all together? cuz the torque tube is only $90 from pure diesel power and the stage I kit is $267. buying it separate saves you like 80 bucks.

also, is the pro-Guard 7 filter worth the extra coin?

:edit:
yeah i just noticed that the stage 2 kit has the full box around the filter instead of a heat shield. i'm sure thats the reason for the difference in price.
