Diff. lock needed?

The Dana 80 Power Lock is discontinued
You can however get the Dana 70 Power Lock and drill it out for the larger Dana 80 ring gear bolt. Randys ring and pinion said they could do this.
That is what I really like to do with mine.
2wd is so worthless in my truck its ridiculous, even with 35" mud tires, you get no traction in 2wd.

It will chatter and squeak the tires a bit when turning with the wheel full lock and goin slow though.
Oh, and a good bit of throttle around a bend in the rain, and you will have the truck sideways before you know it, so be careful. (This is another reason they have defeated so much clutch pack area)

It should be noted that a standard D70 Plok is much smaller and not compatible with the D80. You must get a D70 HD carrier....it is identical to the D80 other than it has a slightly smaller ring gear bolt circle. Randy's, Reider and others will slot the holes to accept the larger D80 ring gear bolt circle and you are good to go.
