So I'm running a 4" straight exhaust on my ride. And I'm sick of how loud it is.
I love the deep throaty tone, just tired of how loud it is outside the truck and everyone whining about how loud it is. So I'm looking at the aero turbine muffler on the xdp site. What's the diff between the 4" with a resonator, and one without? And what is a resonator? When I hear that word, I think of the fast n the furious crowd.

 

Essentially to quieten the noise down. Sound waves canceling out each other. (I think) I had a sports car once, and wanted some more sound so I had the resonator (which was separate and in front of muffler) removed, and it really made it sound a lot better, but not too loud. I guess it is according to how loud or quiet you want exhaust.
