I was just told that if I go with bigger DV's with stock injectors, I could ruin my injection pump.. Is this true?

Thanks
Mine has worked fine for just over 50,000 km.......what specifically gets ruined in the P7100?? I only added 370's about 18,000 km ago.

He said it could ruin a pluger.. Because of the increased pressure but nowhere to release it.

I just talked to a few other people and they say that claim is BS

Somebody please correct me if I'm wrong here becasue I'm not a P7100 expert but I don't think the size of the dv will have much of an effect on pressure.....I thought it was the pop-off pressure that is preset at the injector that alters the pressure. Flow is higher on the larger dv because of the increased hole size.....to me, pressure could be higher at the plunger if the fuel has to be pushed through a smaller orfice......even then, I would think these would be very nominal differences in pressure.

191's are only SLIGHTLY larger than stock 181's that are factory equipped on many hp levels of P7100.

I have never heard of anyone having P7100 trouble as the result of larger dv's.

I have the set coming from Scheids. A bit more money but comparable to laser cuts as far as I've heard.

Jeremy,

You should have 181s in your truck. You should see the same improvements that these folks are talking about. If you decide to do it, let us know.

I think the next thing mine needs is an injector upgrade. Oh, and a clutch! I plan on re-grinding my home ground #10 plate into a #100. Where does the madness end!!!!!!

What would the cores be good for? I was planning on a new set of bosch 330HP marine injectors. Would it be beneficial to get a set for cores?
