Decompressing

How far can I push it without decompressing my marine pistons,I am at 809/1498 now can I go for a 1000hp or will it bend a rod?? (all with NOS )

If it is a 12 V you can avoid lots of engine damage with timing. Bump the timing up and this will drop the low end TQ which is what helps bend rods.

Also, bring the nitrous in slooowly with a progressive controller to help clip the TQ.

1400 ft lbs and up on a DynoJet is enough to bend rods, but I have seen more and nothing go wrong @ the same time.

thanks Don ,I am going to give ya a call Monday about a Cam, I was told by a little birdie that my haisley cam is costing me 150+hp from valve over lap since they were only designed to run 4500+rpm's? has anyone seen this on a Dyno ?
