Daniel Stern Lighting

Anyone order any headlight relay kits from this guy? If so how long did it take to get your order? Paid the guy via paypal two weeks ago and never heard another word. You would think the guy would of had the courtesy to send me a reply email on the status of my order. The kit consisted of relays, ceramic sockets, etc.. everything else but the wire. Basic common parts that can be ordered anywhere. I hear I'm not the only one where this guy doesn't respond to emails and we wonder why business is going overseas. Could have ordered from China and already had the crap in less than a week. Frustrating and I know one thing for certain I will never order anything from this guy again.

I never had an issue for the stuff he sent me, I had questions early on and had no problem calling, he was straight up on the phone...

and the parts were excellent quality, not cheap knock off stuff

A little off the subject. I ordered a combo warning/buzzer light off ebay for some other diesels as a low psi warning. It shipped from Taiwan to Texas in 7 days, I couldn't believe I rec'd it that fast! Your time, my time and his time are all equally of the same value, common courtesey would be to send out a simple reply. I hope things work out.

Is it really that tough to pick up the phone and make a call? Realize that this guy is a one-man shop and probably prefers to be in his workshop rather than sit on a computer all day.

I emailed inquiring about a kit. He responded with the normal response that numerous guys on here have posted. A lot of good information in the email and told me how I could order. I really didn't feel like emailing my paypal or credit card info so I called. I got no answer so I left a message. Waited a couple days, called again, no answer. I gave up and got my kit from suvlights.com

Since I wasn't going to wait 3-4 weeks for a simple kit I ended up opening a claim on paypal as I wanted my money back at this point. Within a couple of hours low and behold I finally got an answer from the guy. Apparently he checks his paypal account and that's it. He did apologize that he dropped the ball on my order. One-man shop or not if your going to run a business you need customer support. Enough said. I did what swordfish did and ordered a harness from suvlights.

Did he refund money or did he offer to send you kit FINALLY? Id rather have a quality harness on my truck, read some bad reviews about SUVlights harness ie it's too short and you have to modify it and wire gauge is thinner...

Still waiting on the refund. The harness I bought from suvlights is 12guage wiring which more than sufficient for the current draw. As for it being too short I don't know. Maybe someone else can chime in on that one.

Silver R/T,
The harness I got was not too short. I had to pull the power wire from the split loom a little to route the way I wanted, but everything matched up good. The only reason the wire gauge would be thinner then the Daniel Stern is because you get to choose your own wire gauge with the Stern package. I would say the suvlight harness was 16 gauge if not 14. I am not a good judge on wire gauges so please don't take that as gospel. I felt the same way another guy did, I could build my own, but I wouldn't do as nice of a job and my time would cost more then to buy a whole harness. So that's why I went with the suvlights harness. I finally got mine all hooked up last night and I am very happy.

The harness from SUVlights.com was a little short for me too. I added another 12" of 12 gauge wiring for easier routing.

Hello everyone. With respect to dealings with Daniel Stern and his company;

I have had very good service from Daniel Stern. We have communicated via e-mail about me buying one of his light harnesses. He seems very well informed about the issues surrounding the crappy lighting on our Dodge trucks. He responded within a reasonable period of time,in great detail and with clarity, to my several e-mails. I ordered the harness kit and asked that he ship it via USPS as I wasn't in a great hurry. The packages showed up within 14days on my doorstep (rural Alberta, Canada). The product is exactly as advertised and seems to be well made and with good materials and quality control. I am very satisfied with my dealings with Mr. Stern. YMMV.

Just sayin'!

Cheers!

Mike

i have also had good dealing with daniel stern. in fact i might even order his DRL kit as the new headlight harness disables the DRL.

also as for the SUVlights harness - this thread is the first i have heard of it being insufficient whatsoever. i know the LMC truck harnesses have been know to be short/poorly built with small gauge wire though . . .

I have his ParkLight DRL and can say it works as advertized, and has worked flawlessly. I've yet to see any other 2nd gen dodges around here with the parklight DRL, but do see many trucks without DRL, I'm assuming because of the fail rate of the OEM unit, guys just unplug them.

I have the schematic of which wires to jump if your hibeam indicator does not work, and can post it if you need it

SORRY if I got off topic....
