Dude, this is your father in law we are talking about right? You are a fool if you don't let him win.

Do you really want your daughter to marry a guy that will beat you at any cost?

Get a torque plate, some 3K G-springs and 370 injectors. Do the T-converter lock up mod and then consider saving for a better trans...cuz yours is not long for this world after that! BUT you should be able to hang/run off and leave any 7.3 PSD modded or not....6.0L little more tricky....My theory is speak softly and carry a big stick....or sticks!! If the dude is talking trash about a 12V....he just doesn’t have a clue........

Check the will first. If you are in it for a pile ...let him win after a little struggle. If not roast him haha Show him that the"good for nothing son-in-law" at least knows trucks. You'll be talking his game then. Maybe he'll cut you in.

4000 rpm governor springs, Diamond 370 injectors, HX40 sized turbo, and a bump in timing to 16* will put your '94 at close to 450 rwhp, more than enough to handle any powerstroke out there. Not too hard on the pocket book at all. The tranny won't like it without some modifications, though.

I wouldnt say 450 rwhp would handle every powerstroke out there. Most yes, all NO!

You guys are going overkill. I have my truck with a 3k GSK, advanced timing, and a #5 plate. I have out ran a stock 05 6.0l stroke at the drag strip twice, and I am sure that it would take more than just a chip for most 7.3's to hang with me. I can run low 16's in the 1/4, and that was before the new TC. I feel I can get into the high 15's now. The 7.3 PSD's have a hard time getting there without injectors, and those are a lot of $. If you are trying to do this cheap here is what I suggest.
-Gauges
-Transgo shift kit(or full Valve Body if you can handle it $ wise)
-The fuel plate(that you have)
-3k GSK
-Timing advance(16* or so)Didnt help power much, but made a huge EGT reduction
-Torque converter lockup switch(this makes a HUGE difference)

You may still be able to slip your tranny; but the occasional race wont hurt anything as long as you drive it right the rest of the time. I pulled my truck twice, and ran at the drag stip about 20 times, and a couple on the street from stop lights, and my tranny was still doing fine when i put the better converter in. You will need a shift kit, or VB though. Get the full VB if you can swing it. Then if you still want more, put some bigger DV's in,a nd a good torque converter, and maybe injectors, and a turbo,a nd you will have a dang quick truck. But for now those simple mods should more than shut your father in law up; since he probably doesent even know how to build boost anyway . When you race; build about 3-4psi of boost,a nd you will get a little jump without to much tire spin. Just do a little experimenting to see how you can launch the best; because a lot of your time is in the launch. Good luck

Eric
