Exclamation clutch not working?

a friend of mine has a 12 valve, it has some pump work and delivery valves. it runs pretty good, turns about 4800 rpms. anyways we had put a new clutch in it 200 miles ago and he did a big burnout, he grabbed 4th gear and it started slipping. after he let of he had a dead peddle like the slave cylinder quit working. he put a new slave cylinder in it, and the peddle feels like it is there but still wont go into any gear? what could of happened? and why wont it work? also the clutch is a bigger single disk south bend clutch. thanks for any input, he could use the help.

The disc face probably came apart and is stacked between the pressure plate and the flywheel.

and a "big burnout" with a new single disk clutch under 200 miles is pretty retarted.

Yes, it can happen. Same thing happened to dad, but he was just downshifting to turn off onto our road. It wasnt a new southbend, but it could happen to any of them.

Southbend usually recommends (dunno what size he got) 500 miles of easy driving and some stop and go (ex. in town driving)

If he wants to be in the pulls, he should have went double disk. heh, he may get that chance.

Just out of curiosity, did you have that installed for 1800 or did you just buy a single disk for 1800, cause if that is the case then I would say that you got the short end of the stick.

my double disk cost me 1800 dollars and i installed it myself. i was thinking the same as jjb. If he only got a single disk for 1800 he got shafted
