I'm thinking of just buying a replacement cone filter and hooking it up to the stock intake tube. I can get a K&N or AEM Brute Force filter for about $40 rather than buying the whole kit for $300. What do you guys think? I want to do this cause the stock intake sucks and the inside of my turbo was getting dirty. Oh, and also I'm hoping to get a nice sound out of it .

I've heard some bad things about the K&N but after little searching, that and AEM were the only replacement filters I could find. Does AFE sell the filter alone?

What brand filter would you recommend? Is there a type of filter that doesn't require oiling?

 

Yes, it is the bhaf. Same set up, same price. Do a search or just look around it is a good system.

The BHAF is a great choice. I have the Napa filter part #2790 and I know the Wix filter part # 42790. Both can be ordered for about $30. It will sound good especially if your slincer ring just happens to fall out during installation!!!
