Ceramic Brakes..The wave of the future
Ceramic Brakes..The wave of the future
Just had them installed...They are GREAT!! No dust, last a long time. less heat. I think this is the future for brakes.

Does anybody know anything bad about ceramic brakes?
Re:Ceramic Brakes..The wave of the future
Bob, Why would the ceramice wear out the rotors? I would think it would be the opposite.
What do you mean by "wear out". Do the ceramics cut into the rotors more than conventional brakes?

Re:Ceramic Brakes..The wave of the future
Put Ceramix on mine a month ago, because Autozone did not have the Performance Frictions I wanted in stock, and they haven't made a sound yet. They stunk pretty weird for a few days until they got broke in, but now the brakes have never been better on that truck. Brakes feel like they're gonna put me through the windshield, and I'll replace rotors with pleasure for good stopping power. ;D

Chris
Re:Ceramic Brakes..The wave of the future
Spark Chaser..I would think you would have turned down the rotors before you put the ceramics in. If not I would do it. They may have looked good; that may be why you didn't turn them, but "looks can be deceiving". It may have been warped...just a thought.
Re:Ceramic Brakes..The wave of the future
Stamey..I go along with your logic. Autozone said new rotors are about $40. each. I agree, that's a small price to pay for stoping power.
