I did just what you are looking for. Can't remember the exact dimensions, but if you're skilled enough to build your own box I'm sure you're compitent enough to take your own measurements. Fits in like factory now!

Ahhh very nice, and the seat still looks useable too. I actually dont care if the seat is useable or not. how much airspace were you able to get out of your box? And to respond to gotstacks, the rear seats are packed with 2 amps, audio control matrix and the carputer.

I think I did a rough calc aroun 1.2 cuft. I put a bunch of insulation in it to take up some space because the alpine Type R I have in there wants 0.8 cuft. If I were to do it again I would make the sides a little smaller so it sits down flush with the rest of the seats, but as it is, there is still good padding ontop of the box. Had a girl sitting in the middle on a 5hr trip and had no complaints, she liked the bass though

it's sitting 2" off the floor because the sub moves out 1.5" at full power.

I bought a 10 inch sealed sub that bolted right where the stock middle seat would go, the arm rest / console bolted right to it. The stock seat cover slid over the sub and it looked completely stock until you tried to sit on it or you turn up the bass. I used it for ten years in my old 3/4 ton dodge v-10 4x4 then when that got totaled I got a 01 diesel quad cab and bolted right in. JL AUDIO makes it and it is a solid well built piece

I just bought a sub box on e-bay from hot boxes. JL audio is the best, but pricey.

I think I paid $500 or so for mine ten years ago. Goes in smooth looks good and has been cranking bass for years.
