I'm also thinking about getting the Cobra 75 WX ST. It looks great and very compact. Any recommendations for this product?
Re:CB Antennas

If you are not trying to reach Argentina on your CB and want a rather inconspicous antenna, try the thru glass unit from Radio Shack. Now, I know the big boys will want to tell me how much loss I will have with this installation, etc etc etc. Well, this installed with a SWR of 1.05 and I am reaching very satisfactorily with a good signal with the small mini Radio Shack unit. My modulation is hitting better than 40%. That's not bad with a tiny radio like that. It is mounted on the knee panel under the steering wheel, easy to see and get at, sound is on my side of the vehicle away from the CFO who does not appreciate the language and is not in the way.

I mounted the antenna on the rear window. It is really easy to pull the wire along a floor channel just inside the door on the 2003. Nice neat installation, inconspicous, quick, easy and servicable. Cost of antenna is $40.

Bob

Re:CB Antennas

the best antenna to get is a 102 steel whip ,1/4 wave, don't have to worry about the swr's either with a whip and also they are sold at radio shack for about 15 bucks

Re:CB Antennas

Here's one fur yah. Where is the best place to mount the antenna if you haul a 5th wheeler? I don't want to cut a hole in the roof for the antenna and I really don't like the looks of the front fender mount? I have been holding off for 3 months trying to come up with a place to mount the antenna that still looks good and gives a good signal. Any ideas?
Hauler

Re:CB Antennas

Get one of these.
Place to mount the antenna, a set of "Loading Lights", and whatever.

Better pic. to give you an idea.

Hauler,

I'm in the same situation and have pretty much decided on going with a good Wilson or K-40 magnetic antenna.

The mag mounts offer a a good balance of form and function. The guys at our Radio Shop at work recommended the mag mount for my application. Also, the best mount surface is the very center of the roof.

The mag mount allows you the flexibility of putting the antenna behind the seat when you don't need it ... parking garages, car wash, etc.
