Can I build a good tranny?

well I talked to dave at GB and got a breakdown of prices for everything and its going to cost about 5130 for parts including shipping if I build it myself, or about 7000 for a full built trans shipped. parts quoted are Valve body, triple disc converter, billet input, billet intermediate, billet clutch drum, billet flex plate, deep pan, overhaul kit, bearings, O/D sun gear if mine doesn't have 15* steel teeth, and shipping. what do you guys think
