Bumper questions

Can anybody here with RoadArmor, JD Distributing, Winch Ready, and Alien Patrol bumpers let me know what the difference is (if any)? Different thickness of the steel used?

Is anyone unhappy with their bumpers? Also do they fit on trucks with sport grills?

Thanks everyone!

Find someone near that has a bumper you like, get a tape on it, build it yourself. Cheaper, probably built better, and self gratifying.

Just a note our bumpers are made of 3/16" A36 steel all our tube is .120 wall. Hope that helps.

I have Browns welding bumpers on my 96 ford. They are stout.
And their in New Braunfels, Tx. Might want to look at their site.
I am not sure if they are the style you are looking for, but worth
a look.

The boondock and winchready bumpers look real good from what I see. Initially I tried to find an aluminum one because of the extra load on the coils but they all seem to run 150lb or more based on the extras you add on. So in this case Id just go with a good quality steel bumper with color and clear powdercoat for protection.
Theres the list I bookmarked so far:
aluminess
alien patrol
fabfours
buckstop
boondock
winchready
tough country
road armor
Throttle down kustoms
bodyguard accessories
denver offroad

These are the guys i used. Real local to me. Little further to you. But probaly not that bad if you wanted to go on a little road trip. There web sites a little rough, though. I am real pleased with mine. I wish i had less dimond plate on it though.

Also another one to checkout is:

http://www.ironbullbumpers.com/

Top shelf stuff here.

Its getting harder and harder to find custom bumpers for second gens as the market is somewhat limited for the builders (compared to third gens).

Thats what I'd do or sit down and draw one up yourself and build it, then you won't be like everyone else...no offense everyone else

What Dixie said about the 3/16" steel, that's good thick steel, depending on how much there is on your bumper it could get heavy.....well, will be heavy. With the front end problems on these trucks already....hmmm, how much do you want to add. Have you thought about aluminum? Aluminum bumper you could pick up and throw over your shoulder.
