Brightest Back-Up Lights?
Hmmmmm... I didn't realize there was some kind of stock socket. I'm talking about lights that mount under the rear bumper that you hook up to power and a switch (or that you wire into the reverse lights).
I've got some day and night pics in my gallery of the Navigator backup lights I have on mine. You can pick them up from Auto Zone for around $25. Just throw away most of the extra bracketry and just use the main light bracket and bolt to the underside of the bumper. Nice and low profile and throw a pretty good field of light.
I just posted the pics tonight, so as soon as they're approved you should be able to see them.

P.S.-Check your PMs
Don't see the Navigators on AutoZone's website. Just the KC Backup Lights. The KCs look awesome. Anybody know what the difference is between two brands that both sell 55 Watt backup lights? Are there other numbers that determine the brightness other than the Wattage?

I just bought the KC backup light kit from JC Whitney. It has 2 lights, all the wiring, and a relay so you can connect it to the backup light switch and optionally have a separate switch to power them as well, like when you are hooking up at night.
I don't know how goo they are yet as I have not installed them yet.
I'll let you know, if you like.

I got some halogen bulbs that just replace our regular back-up light bulbs. Not as bright as having separate lamps, but under $10, and only took a few minutes to install. Still a worthwhile improvement over stock. Hopefully the switch handles the extra draw ok. We'll see.
Now that MedicShawn mentioned it, I think the Navigators are now sold under the Pilot name at AutoZone. They come with brackets to be zip tied to the receiver hitch, but I wanted something a little more sturdy.
They are 55W lights and quite bright.
I've also done the brighter lights in the stock locs, but due to the smoked color of the lenses it doesn't help near as much as the aux lights.

Pilot and Navigator seem to be synonymous. Couldn't find them at the AutoZone website though.

I believe there was a member here that put a set of off road lights and wired into the reverse light circuit. The stock reverse lights on his truck, he took the white lens and swapped in an amber lens and made that into his turn signal. Don't remember his name though.
