bluechip inj. pump
appreciate the one who gave the info on bluechip.
appears from their site the new improved pump they have is better than the standard vp44. more Hp (don't really need that) better MPG (that's always a good thing) and longer lasting. is the extra $425 worth it for their pump and what do you guys think about the performance of these.
oh might i add that they loan you the gear puller when you purchase from them, seems they offer great deal of help for the do it yourselfer.
thanks in advance

In my opinion, a rebuilt pump like theirs with the new copper alloy lined timing valve housing in the case, a new front diaphragm, and the improved and more temperature resistant processor is the only way to go.
So, when you figure the extra few dollars against standing on your head and doing the pump replacement over because of a cheaper rebuilt pump that fails, it really makes the old adage that "you get what you pay for" all that more valid.

I wasn't aware Blue Chip rebuilt VP44, all new reman have the fedex electronics. The only differance I see is that blue chip replaces the housing instead of using a good used 1. Most of the HR pumps also use new housings. I know II does. The new housing is the cost differance. I also heard that if a reman pumps housing is bad it also gets replaced and sold at the same cost this is from II. These are just like any other reman part, some are good and others are junk.
I would buy a pump from a reputable rebuilder not a reman from who knows where. I've seen several of the reman CZ black beautys fail. Who remans the $1000 pumps advertised on here?

off Blue Chips site:
There are three things that WILL VOID this warranty. One is contaminated fuel, which is becoming all too prevalent as we switch to ultra low sulphur fuel, the second is if you break the diaphram in the front of the injection pump ( this can ONLY be due to low fuel pressure ) and thirdly if you make a "nick" in the solenoid wire by hooking up a fueling style performance box. We offer a replacement plastic "Pump Cover" to make that electrical connection, which to date has not been discovered by Bosch and therefore become a way to deny warranty.

Heck I had to buy my gear puller from him! It really is a trick little piece.
You guys who think you are too good to spend the $25 on it don't know what you are missing. So far I have been pleased with my VP from Chip. It only has 45K on it and has never had less than 14psi fed to it.(Thanks FASS!) Heck I would probably still be on my stock VP if the LP didn't die at 88K and starve it. It did last until 159K after that though!
I haven't been bitten by the VP like so many others have.
