Why not tap the exhaust manifold....curl up some metal tubeing to dissapate the heat, and run to the top side of the BOV (Drive pressure)....then tap boost pressure to the bottom.....i think that would work, NO?
i have no clue, just called BD and they said that theres mounts on the intercooler piping on the driver side, i not to sure familiar with BOVs, i dont know if they were suppost to go pre turbo or after the turbo.
WELL....it has to be after the turbo. The concept it so "Blow off the Boost" to keep it from backing up through the turbo (Stall).....OR to keep the turbo spooled between shifts....taking the load/drag off of the blades.......
Gassers have an eaiser time whith this due to haveing a restriction (throttle plate) that causes lower pressure when the thottle is closed.....this creates low pressure to pull the BOV open......very simple....
Diesels have no throttle plate, so have to get creative with how it opperates....would have to use drive pressure and boost, or go to an electric setup like BD has........The mechanical being the cheapest.........

thats what i ordered what the BD turbo guard. looks pretty simple. it taps into the apps and everytime i let off of the pedal, it opens. its totally controlled by the pedel so if i let off half way, the BOV will still work half way. seems like a pretty cool little device.
I think Got...Diesel? was working on a way to make the regular ones work...probably something like Diesel Dan is saying. You might PM him and see if he ever got anywhere!!
I'm thinking about one to help keep my 40 alive...Haven't barked it yet, but the time is coming

Guys... I think you are missing something.... or else I am?
BOV's are next to useless on automatics. When are you going to be letting completely off the throttle as you shift into OD????
See Charlie8301 above - "but the BOV did not help because it only opens when the throttle is lifted."
I almost never barked my KSB-1 after learning how to deal with it... (and the thing is so overbuilt, you can't hurt it anyway).
1-Be accelerating when it shifts into OD
2- Allow time/room to back off pedal slowly after a WOT run. (admittedly, not always doable).
There big advantage is for manual trannys only... when shifting with 0 right foot pressure.... No?
The new BD system, with different settings sounds alright, but expensive, and opening the BOV at partial throttle, if it works, sounds like chance for it opening when you don't want or need it open?

maybe you could plumb a tiny air solenoid to your universal BOV that would use boost pressure to open it up, but the solenoid would be wired to a cheap microswitch at your throttle that would send a signal to open up when you let off the throttle.
