I cant get a billet output for my 47rh... Sounds like I should be ok with the stock intermediate. Like I said. It will make it a lot easier for me to afford at the time, being in college with a part time job But it also sounds like it will hold up good. My Goerend converter is pretty darn tight already. I have always done locked shifts with this tranny. It never pulls it down excessively when it locks, so I feel it would be alright. Thats how I broke the input; from a locked 2-3 shift. I already have a billet input, and flexplate, so im in good shape there. Looks like i might just run the billet input, and suncoast flexplate then.

As explained to me (and I went with billet input and intermediate) - if the intermediate shaft goes, it will take most of the internals with it. If the output goes, you drop the tail section, replace and you're back in business without much hassle. An input may do some damage but usually not much. If you have some mileage and boosted launches and loads and you don't want to take a chance, then $650 is pretty good insurance. Also, power is addictive, 500 HP turns into 550 then 600 and then next thing you know - bang, there goes your tranny. I'm glad I went the way I did, and haven't had problems, but then may not have anyway. Good luck on ultimate decision.
