Ok, not to sound like a complete numb-skull, but I just bought my first CTD. What benefit do you get from the BHAF? I know you're all going to have a good laugh at that question ... let me beat you to it

Cheers,
Andrew

That's funny!! I brought my truck in for a local state inspection and when the guy opened the hood his jaw dropped to the floor. "That's the biggest frickin' air filter I've ever seen!!"
(I'm running the red Outerwears)

Having talked to some parts guys overhere, it would seem all the filters mentioned with regard to BHAF are for marine applications, so my question is aren't they already water proof??

The best price iv'e got is £48 + taxes, that's about $75 +17.5% VAT, once again ripoff Britain.

The only one that I know of that is for Marine use is the Fleetguard AH19002,
and it isn't water proof, just water resistant.

I'd still put a water resistant prefilter on it, if I was to run it,
which I probably will when my current AH19037 gets wore out.

I stopped at a cummins shop today on the premise of getin a bhaf for my rig, they had one in stock so I was spinnin em to get there, got there the one they had was a marine app, said to counter person lemme get a look see at it. Almost grabbed my wallet and then he told me the price 145 bux !!! shiz I can get 3 non marines for that price, tried to haggle but to no use. Needless to say I am still tryin to get a hold of one. guess I'll have to order one to my local napa shop, I hate doing that, with all the oppourtunities for a wrong item being sent and waiting, I like havin it in my hands now when I want something.

double post to get noticed.... Fiunnally got around to ordering the BHAF from local NAPA, they had one in a warehouse not too far away and I got iaround 5 pm tonight. 10 degrees or not I want it in so shiverin and shakin I installed it. Saved my filter minder from old setup, drilled hole on end of filter and popped it in. iat sensor I think ianyway I installed in the neck of the filter to give the computer an accurate idea on intake air temperature. All in all went ok but I did have to trim the side of my battery tray a bit to get the filter down far enough to close the hood. Man is that thing huge, and after the install I headed to the local train tunnel and set the ez at max and rolled the windows down to listen to it howl and boy does it, sounds like tornado under my hood! only other thing I need for my intake now is an outerwears for it, the stock elbows worked out ok as far as a clamp the stocker is too short by two threads to grab so I put four self tapping screws throuh the elbow to hold it on the filter neck.

I don't think that filter minder will do any good on the BHAF. I would think it is set for the factory air box only. Maybe someone wiser than myself will know better.

Not my area of knowledge here but I thought the filter minders where just there to detect to much negative pressure (ie vaccum) at the intake, the filter used shouldnt matter as long as there is no leaks.. right?
Hope some of you smart guys answer this one.....
