Should be able to get it for $50 shipped or less IIRC.

Remove the stock airbox. The Bhaf slides on the intake tube. i just let it sit there on my 98.5. As for a heat sheild i would say no. I never had an issue with not having one.

The NAPA P/N is 2790, IIRC.

I paid $60 for mine back in the day.

install a cut rubber hose over the a/c line that the filter rest on....if not it will wear thru the aluminum line and you'll loose your a/c freon.

You can get a Donaldson one from Vulcanperformance.com for $38 and some change. The heatshield isn't a must, but I made one anyways and painted it with high temp paint. I also cut a piece of old mudflap out that I got from work and laid it on my fender so that the filter didn't rub through the a/c line or the paint on my fender. Vulcan also has the Outerwears pre-filters for the BHAF too if your interested.

Mileage may vary, biggest thing that helps is a filter sock over it to catch a lot of the bigger stuff. Mine has 10k and looks new still.

A heat shield is not a must, but my EGT's went up about 75 degrees across the board even with a heat shield installed.

That's wierd, my EGT's went down almost 100 degrees at WOT, and that's with my 100hp injectors. Different strokes for different folks I guess. Just my 2 cents.

That's kinda the general consensus I had read before installing mine, so I was surprised to see them (egt's) go up instead of down.
