BD Pressureloc
BD Pressureloc
When I purchaced my truck I recieved a new BD Pressureloc thing. The transmission had quite a few upgrades already, so I don't know if I should bother putting this on, or selling it.<br>I have a 97 new tork converter, some kind of valve and some kind of bands, and a Magtec pan.
Re:BD Pressureloc
Hello again Tim,
I was looking through some older posts and saw this one, which I had previously missed. The idea behind the pressureloc is to increase the transmission line pressure when in lock-up to approximately the value at 3/4 throttle, regardless of actual throttle position. This gives the lock-up clutch more holding power. Two reasons we may not need this on our trucks- 1. TransGo kit raises pressure to the lock-up clutch (just how much depends on the main pressure regulator adjustment). 2. Our electronic transmissions switch the lock-up pressure to system pressure at highway speeds.
But, if you ever consider installing an exhaust brake, keep the pressureloc- this is where you will want it. If you use an autoloc or torqueloc to control your e-brake, then lock-up will stay in down to around 25 mph. During this time, the pressureloc will help hold in the lock-up clutch harder.
I have one and plan to install it along with an older BD in-liine exhaust brake and a torqueloc.
