Question BBD Narrow Stacks.......

Does anyone know where to get the T-Pipe kit for the narrow mounted stacks like Big Bad Dodge had? Also, how much, on average, would it cost to get the stacks powdercoated flat black? They are 5x36" tips. Thanks.

Ok, I'll check with him. I like it cause it's a little more sporty and I want the black stacks to go with the black nerf bars and the black housing head and tail lights I want. The truck is the dark maroon color, so the black should look good and be alot easier to keep clean

Pretty sure Scott made that set for the BBD. I dunno if you can buy them like that.

You could use a piece of rectangular tubing mounted in the bed to attach the stacks to and make them as narrow or wide as you want. I'm going to set mine up like that but I'm waiting on my piece of steel from work that I can get it for free lol

Luken has his setup like that, but I don't see how it can be good for flow, going from a smooth round pipe into a square box and the turning 90* up and into another tube.

A local place does powder coating cheap. Might cost $25-$30 for the 2 tips. If he's not running flat at the time,he might charge a color set up fee($30). He ususlly runs semi gloss all the time, no set up fee. I'm sure you could ship them in and he'd ship them back to you. Or I could help you out w/that if you wanted. PM when you're ready. I guess the other thing to consider is the stack temp. I'm not sure what that would be but powder coating is only good for so much. I talked to a guy who used to do the high temp stuff and he said it didn't hold up.

WELL stacks, by themselves, are not conducive to exhaust flow.....as long as you use the correct size square tubing (there was a thread on here somewhere talking about this), i don’t see it hurting to the point that your EGT's or power would suffer. BUT it would not look as clean as a full pipe setup.

HERE....found my old thread on it......

I dont know but i just prefer narrower stacks, say that the outside measurment of the stacks are just a tad narrower then the top edges of the cab.

IMO stacks on the bed sides dont look good!

I like the narrow one's just cause you don't see them that much, and it also leaves enough room on the outsides to mount a couple of inbed tool/strorage boxes if I want. I want mine just like BBD's with the inside edges at the outside edges of the rear sliding window.
