yes cant forget about that one but its a totally different ball bearing design. talked to edge and they said it wouldnt be much louder than a stock turbo but then i talked to a garrett dealer and they installed one of the new ones for a 2000 cummins and said is sounded like a jet taking off. but i do like the look of the edge way better if thats worth anything

The grapevine said $3000+, but the grapevine's been wrong before.

Here's a sound clip of a Garrett on a 2001. I concur with the "jet taking off" noise:

Man that sounds sweet, I've always liked the way the 6.0 Fords turbo sounds. Why are these so loud and others so quiet? My HTB2 has very little exhaust turbo noise. I want the Garrett.

sorry but grapevine is wrong!!!!!!!

just got off the phone with diesel innovations in texas. they are the largest garrett dealer around. they quoted me 1650 for the entire stage 3 kit. minus 100 bucks for the stage to and minus another 100 for the stage one. sounds awseom. just have one question for you guys. is a ball bearing turbo like garretts rebuildable if the bearings ever go out? my buddy , well so called buddy lol keeps telling me never to buy a ball bearing cuase if the bearings go out, it cant be fixed and you have to buy a brand new turbo. what do you think.

hey CTD Niel the reason they are so loud is because they use an dual ball bearing designe for the center section of the turbo. others like yours and mine use a cartrige bearing style.

Killed the grape vine here in GA as well. Talked to a diesel shop in Macon, and they have the satge one for $1490, stage 2 for $1540 (I think he said) and $1590 for stage III.

Not a bad price if you compare it to other turbos.

I would like to hear about the rebuild-abilty of these. That has me curious. Can you replace the bearings if they go out?
