Auto trans guru's need your help

I have a 47RE out of a 96 and I also have the A518 out of my 93.
Neither one of those is exactly what I need.
What I need is a 47RH for another conversion. Can I take the overdrive unit off the A518 and mate it to the 47RE front case and use a RH valve body and have what I need?

I would give Dave Goerend a call. He can and will answer your questions.

No. you can't. The 47rh overdrive case has the governor installed, and the 47re doesn't. You can't really make a 47re into a 47rh.

i know the overdrive should be the same but i am not certain to if the valve body would be.. have yet to crack open a 47rh tranny...i looked in my service manual and it does not state that they are the same but they look the same in the picture even on the break down with same check ball points and all.
