Ok guys I have a auto meter pyro on my truck it's about 10 months old, during this winter it started going crazy, on me it pegs out and stays there. or it reads 300 degrees hoter than it is. you tap the gauge once and it pegs out you tap it agin and it goes to the right place. could it be the probe gone bad, or the Wire corodeing? any one had a problem like this. summer is coming and I will be Towing alot more and need a good pyro that I can depend on. thanks in advanced Cole.

 

Well its just two wires- check the connections at the probe and at the guage. If those are good you can try a new probe for ~$35

 

It probably the connections. Thats what was wrong with mine. If not though, just call Autometer and have them send you a new gauge.
