Any user opinions on PacBrake gsk?

Anyone using the gsk kit from PacBrake # HP10029? Just trying to find out if it's a good kit or has it been problematic for those that use it. I can't seem to find much info on it other than it's instructions being "linked to" for use as a great installation guide. Thanks for the info!

I have heard them breaking and ruining a pump.

Spent the $25 more and get a kit that has Bosch spings.

Puredieselpower.com and peak diesel does to.

dieselman2300, thanks for the info. This is now the second time I've heard of them breaking. Someone on another forum mentioned that and it sounded so odd to me then, too. Reguardless, I'll be ordering a set from peak anyways. Now I just need to decide if I'm going to go with the 4k or 3k springs. I'm caught between hearing reports of the 4k being touchy/sensitive and the 3k not having as noticable an effect when used in 215 pumps.

Do the 4k. If the throttle is to touchy, go to the auto parts store and get another throttle return spring and that helps ALOT!

What are your intentions with the truck? For most people the 3k kit is more than enough.

This truck is just my daily driver. I do carry 1 ton of stone, block, and other bulk materials several times a month. Nothing that makes the truck feel like it's laboring. With it's current configuration, as seen in my sig, egt's have never gone over 1000 while loaded or even when just screwing around. So, I got room to turn her up a little more until I bump into exhaust housing size problems. That's something that I'll get into further down the road.

I do have a question. If I get the 4k gsk, and leave out the small 3rd spring, does that make it a 3k gsk? I'm curious, because, if I do the 4k and have problems with throttle sensitivity that I can't tune out, it would nice to be able to just pull the small springs and drop to the 3k until I get the chance to put more time into it.

I never thought of the throttle return spring as an aid to the 4k kit. I'm assuming you mean to pick a stiffer/stronger spring...right? I already have a set of 12 of the hd valve springs, so, going to 4k isn't a problem. I harvested those out of a couple 12 valve heads that I was going to do valve jobs on until I discovered their heads were cracked. They didn't want any of the original parts back, so, free-bee hd valve springs for me. The hd springs will be going in reguardless of which gsk I get.

Thanks for the help on this!

Yes, take the smallest spring out. You can also set up the 4k loose.

All I did was add another throttle return spring from the help section at the auto parts store.
