Red face another gsk question

so i installed my 3k kit (well its a 4k without inner spring) and here's the deal. first time i started the truck it idled about about 70 rpm higher than the original 750rpm and the instructions said this is normal and should b compensated for by the idle screw. but after i drove it around a bit it now sits at 1000 rpm ? so still use the idle screw or back the spring nuts off one or two click? i did 5 clicks, a decision made after much much researching, chosing not to use the .050-.060 the instructsions want. so i ended up with .075

hi
you are not off by much 1 click lower would prob do it .

about once a year i have to turn my idle up a small amount so i would prob not mess with it .
what is your rpm with a/c running ?
ok sayes 820 rpm for mine.
too low and stalls out with ac running .

are you getting te desired rpm with the presant setting ?

Did you originally adjust the idle when the engine was cold? The idle will increase as the engine warms up. You need to set the idle on a hot engine, otherwise you will get the larger RPM creep. About 4 months after my p-pump conversion, my dually started doing this. It would idle 875 cold, but would creep to 1200 in about 5 minutes. Got worse after I put in 150hp injectors. Just had to back off the idle.

as mentioned two clicks and im down. never touched original idle setting so i assumed it was all in the gsk setting. happy with it now....still pulls to 2800+ rpm
p.s. will putting in a gsk create an audible knocking sound from the engine compartment? never was one till now...sounds kinda like a motor would knock when oil is borderline low, but its not. i know i seen a thread on here and someone posted a vid of if....just couldn't find it to c what came of that discussion.
