Allison 1000 in a Ram

Just wondering why no one has done this swap? Shouldn't it be slightly stronger than the 47re and the 48re? Plus with aftermarket parts available wouldn't that make them even stronger?

Re:Allison 1000 in a Ram

I talked to an Allison shop & they said Dodge will be using the 1000 in 2-3 years. He wishes he had one as much as I do. He also thought of using a bigger truck tranny, but cost and time stopped him from doing it. As for an adapter, I'd call Advance Adapters since they probably have the calls weekly for that one. The hard part would be the controlling computer(getting it to work). Only a matter of time before the 1000 will be adapted to just about anything.

I have heard of a guy that put an Allison into a Ram. Not sure if it was a 1000 or not but it is apparantly trick. Here is the thread:<br>http://www.lawnsite.com/showthread.p...p;pagenumber=2
