AFE stage II or scotty II

has anyone got dyno numbers of the stage II? HP increase or egt, ? i know the scotty II is a popular item here, and i'm looking at handing down my stage I Pro Guard to the girlfriend, (yea she even drives a CTD!!) and going with the Scotty or Stage II. What exactly is the mega cannon? i hear about it but never seen it advertised. is that just the blue filter afe makes? i won't switch til i get the guages to do my own testing. then once the guages get here "Katy bar the door" !!

Scotty-- EGTs are as good (even better under hard towing conditions), and it's cheaper.

Scotty II man..

Having and enclosed filter system is way COOOoooOOOLLL too, not just for the cold air induction from the cowl, but protection from the elements underhood.

I read somewhere that dieseldynamics dyno tested all the differen't filters and said the afe megacannon made the most hp. Didn't say anything about egt's though.

The megacannon is just a style of filter. You can get the standard gauze type filter or the proguard 7 in the megacannon.

I don't know about power numbers, but I do know that if you like turbo noise, go with the Scotty, If you like to keep the noise down the AFE stage II is sweet, just slightly louder than stock. I like turbo noise, but I also like to hear myself think

That is exactly why I bought the stage 2, to keep the noise level down and still get the high flow. In my opinion if you already have the stage 1 and the noise doesn't bother you then don't change it. The only difference between the stage 1 and the stage 2 is the stage 2 is more enclosed in a box so it doesn't make as much turbo noise. They both flow the same or so I was told. You already have a hight flow intake why waste the money on another high flow intake when you don't need one.

The problem with dyno testing is that is doesn't account for the positive pressure advantage of the Scotty II system from the cowl induction.

Unless they have a wind tunnel in their dyno bay, they will never be able to fully appreciate the Scotty II or test it properly.
