Adding electrical accessories
I hate wires in the cab. I want to run some permanent wiring to my radar detector, my GPS receiver, and a CB. More could be added later. I see Geno's has some "Painless Wiring Fuse Blocks". They are kind of pricey. Does anyone know of a source for fuse blocks by themselves? I already have relays and wiring.

performance auto.
put one in my truck ...has spots for 6 items and holds blade type fuses
if i remember it was about 6-7 dollars
if you do not have one where you live i will mail you one if you want
Re:Adding electrical accessories
I have the wearther proof Painless Wiring kit and it is expensive for what you get. If I was to do it over again, I'd build my own, using parts readily avialable form NAPA.

The slickest way to install a radar detector is to wire it to the rear view mirror.

I'm also thinking this is an interesting glimpse at the changes in trucks over the years--who would have thought 10 or even 5 years ago that trucks would have rear view mirrors with power running to them?

Re:Adding electrical accessories
For my radar detector I tied into a power lead in the over head concole and have a sort wire running from it to the detector. I picked up a 2 - 6 position fuse blocks at Autozone for about 4 bucks each. They use the standard ATO fuses. I had them mounted on the lid to the underhood fuse box on my Dakota and 1500 for interior accessories. Now that I have a few more lights they are al mounted on a board along with all of the relays and mounted on the pass side battery bracket.

I found just what I needed at Advance Auto Parts. It's made by Buss and has six circuits ATC fused at 30 amps (max) for each circuit. Thanks for the help.
