abs and brake light on 2000
I just started having the abs and the brake light come on. It ususally happens after a few stops are made. I am already planning a tear down and inspect but what should I be looking for? dirty sensors? Its a 4wd with abs on the rear and the big wheel cylinders.
If your speedometer is working, I'd lean away from the speed sensor. Since you say it comes on after a couple stops, watch your speed when it comes on. Mine likes to come on occasionally (sometimes repeatedly, then will leave me alone for a couple months) after 60 km/h (40 mph). According to Haynes this has to do with the switch on the brake pedal. I've checked mine out, and it seems ok, so I'm not sure what the problem is. A DRBIII might be needed to check the PCM to get the right codes. My Smarty only reads engine codes, so I don't know what is actually wrong.

Same happen on mine. I can drive all day around town and it'll never come. But as soon as I get on the freeway, up over 55-60 mph, it comes on.

My cruise vacuum line was broken. I did replace it, so it works flawlessly. But the brake and abs light still come on.
